This month we kicked off the new fiscal year for NC HIMSS and are excited to share the changes within the board. The NC HIMSS board and its committees work throughout the year to bring events and content to our members. We will continue to share updates with you in this monthly newsletter.
President, President-Elect, and Other Board of Director Changes
Leslie Cothran, MBA, moves into the president role to serve for the 2023 and 2024 fiscal years. Leslie recently joined Microsoft as a customer success account manager in Healthcare and Life Sciences after almost 30 years in Information Technology. For the NC HIMSS chapter, Leslie looks forward to working on various initiatives, including membership engagement and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and focusing on strategic relationships to make this chapter the best it can possibly be!
Kim Willis, ECU Health (previously Vidant Health), transitions to the role of past president role and we thank her for two years serving as our chapter’s president!
Jon Brown, MBA and NC Division CIO, HCA Healthcare, is president-elect. With HCA, he leads patient digital strategies, nurse and provider retention, and other endeavors at HCA. Little known fact…Jon has been a member of HIMSS for over 20 years, including partnering with another NC CIO to restart the NC HIMSS chapter many years ago! We are excited to have Jon’s experience and commitment to serving with NC HIMSS!
Other changes to the NC HIMSS board include Cathy Durbin, Himformatics, as communications co-chair, and Catherine Diederich Ed.D., MMCI Duke School of Medicine, Master of Management in Clinical Informatics Associate Director, as membership chair. Learn more.
