Winter Dinner – January 27, 2025
Join us for an evening of education and networking. The cybersecurity workgroup will host a 90-minute Zero-Day Response Strategies panel at the Winter Dinner with panelists from healthcare providers FirstHealth of the Carolinas, UNC Health, and Raleigh Neurological Associates, MSSP Zones, with Serbin Consulting moderating the panel.
A “zero-day vulnerability” refers to a newly found security flaw in software or hardware that doesn’t have a patch available, making it highly exploitable by attackers before any defenses can be put in place, leading to significant risks like data breaches, system disruption, and unauthorized access to sensitive information.

HIMSS North Carolina Chapter Update
The North Carolina chapter of HIMSS has been recognized as a Gold HIMSS Chapter for 2024! A gold HIMSS chapter is an all-star chapter that has had a significant impact on its region through its work in health information and technology. HIMSS recognizes chapters with different levels of recognition, including gold, silver, and bronze, to highlight the work of volunteers and the impact chapters have on the HIMSS mission. It takes a village, and we want to extend our gratitude to our board, volunteers, and all our members for your contributions that resulted in our chapter being recognized as a Gold HIMSS Chapter for 2024.
