Sulaiman H. Sulaiman, BSME, PMP, ITCPM is the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Asheville-based Mission Health System, which was ranked by Truven, of several years in a row, one of the “15 Top Health System in the nation. With six hospitals and more than 1000 beds, Mission Health is the state’s sixth largest health system and the tertiary care regional referral center for Western North Carolina and the adjoining region.
Mr. Sulaiman is a seasoned veteran in information technology strategy and implementation. He is responsible for the development of strategic initiatives concerning all facets of information technology impacting patient care and hospital business operations. Provide vision, leadership and oversight in the implementation of the Electronic Medical Record and Enterprise Resource Planning Systems, Infrastructure, Telecommunication, and Health Information Management Services (HIMSS).
Prior to Joining Mission Health, Sulaiman held a similar position with Cleveland Clinic as Chief Information Officer at Sheikh Medical City in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (2007-2012). He also previously held several positions in information technology within the Cleveland Clinic System in the United States.
Mr. Sulaiman earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree at Cleveland State University. Mr. Sulaiman holds a Project Management Professional Certification (PMP and ITCPM). He is a member of the following organizations: Steering Committee of the Global Healthcare Innovation Council, and Customer Experience Board of Advisors (Cisco Corporation), Cerner Client Care Council (Cerner Corporation), HIMSS Middle East CIO planning committee (2010-12), President of North Carolina HIMSS chapter, and a member of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) with over 16 years of experience in Healthcare and Information Technology.
