We celebrated another Labor Day this month with the opportunity to honor and recognize the works and contributions of laborers to the development and achievements of the United States. In North Carolina, our Governor declared September 2023 as Deaf Awareness Month.
It seems we were just communicating about summer, yet the fall season will officially begin on Thursday, September 22, with the autumnal equinox, and we will continue planning for the upcoming annual conference on October 2-3 to uphold our mission to promote health IT awareness. Special Message from our NC HIMSS President
As a chapter, a primary focus has been on continuous self-improvement. Part of this ongoing effort has involved a thorough review and update of our existing governance. The Board of Directors, with guidance from the HIMSS organization, has reviewed and revised the chapter bylaws. In the near future, you will receive an important email containing a copy of the revised bylaws, marked with changes for your review. It’s important to emphasize that these documents will serve as the governing framework for our chapter in the years ahead. An integral part of the process is a full membership vote. We need your input!
Be on the lookout for that very special email including more detailed information on the voting process.
Thank you.
Leslie W. Cothren
HIMSS North Carolina Chapter President
